DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking experienced Legal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) – Philippines with strong analytical and legal research skills to support AI training and model development initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring practical knowledge of Philippine corporate law, commercial contracts, labour regulations, taxation, and regulatory matters.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of data scientists, AI engineers, and product specialists to develop and evaluate high-quality legal datasets representing realistic legal workflows, statutory interpretation, contract analysis, and professional legal reasoning.
Main Responsibilities
Domain Oversight: Serve as a legal expert on matters involving Philippine corporate, commercial, labour, tax, and regulatory law.
Legal Research: Research and analyze Philippine statutes, regulations, jurisprudence, administrative guidance, and legal precedents.
Data Validation: Review, annotate, and validate legal datasets, including contracts, legal opinions, regulatory materials, and statutory interpretations.
Contract Analysis: Evaluate commercial agreements, corporate documentation, employment-related materials, and regulatory documents.
Prompt Engineering & Strategy: Support AI teams in designing prompts and evaluation criteria for legal reasoning and drafting tasks.
Model Audit: Review AI-generated legal responses and identify inaccurate citations, incorrect interpretations, hallucinations, or incomplete reasoning.
Legal Drafting: Create or evaluate legal summaries, memoranda, contract clauses, and structured legal analyses.
Regulatory Awareness: Monitor relevant developments affecting Philippine corporate, labour, tax, and commercial regulation.
Role Requirements
Licensed Attorney, JD/LL.M. graduate, Senior Legal Researcher, or experienced Paralegal with strong knowledge of Philippine law.
Minimum 3+ years of relevant legal practice, research, drafting, or advisory experience.
Strong understanding of Philippine corporate law, commercial contracts, Labour Code requirements, taxation, and regulatory matters.
Excellent legal research, statutory interpretation, citation verification, and document drafting skills.
Strong written English.
Familiarity with legal databases, regulatory research platforms, and legal technology tools.
Familiarity with Generative AI, prompt engineering, or AI data annotation is a plus.
Awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices.
